There’s a new ASTM E18-12, “Standard Test Methods for Rockwell Hardness of Metallic Materials,” and it’s available now from Document Center Inc. in either paper or pdf format. This is one of our best selling standards, providing customers with the requirements for Rockwell hardness machines and the procedures for performing Rockwell hardness tests.
The new revision replaces the previous ASTM E18-11 Edition, which is now obsolete. Three sections have been revised: A1.4.7.2, A1.4.9.1, and Table A1.3. These reflect a change in the difference in hardness between the standardized test blocks.
The standard also has a series of Annexes and Appendices that provide additional information, and more information on each of those can be found on the bibliographic page for ASTM E18 on our website.
All current and many obsolete ASTM standards can be purchased on the Document Center website, www.document-center.com. All ASTM standards are covered by copyright which means that in order to see them you need to either purchase a copy or go to an engineering library in your area that has ASTM standards in their collection.
