New AMS 2771 Revision E released on Heat Treatment of Aluminum Alloy Castings

AMS 2771E, “Heat Treatment of Aluminum Alloy Castings,” has just been released and is now available from Document Center Inc. in either paper or pdf format.  The Aerospace Material Specification covers the engineering requirements for the heat treatment of aluminum alloy castings and for parts machined from castings.

This new revision replaces the SAE AMS 2771D from July 2011 (see our blog).  It is the 5th release of the document and for more information on the document’s history, take a look at our AMS 2771 revision history page.  The new edition results from a need to clarify when refrigeration may be used for the retention of the AQ condition or to facilitate straightening (see Section 3.2.10).

Many companies purchase their SAE standards from Document Center Inc. through our web store, www.document-center.com, or by phone (650-591-7600), fax (650-591-7617) or email (info@document-center.com).  Why?  Because we offer responsive personal service, expertise that is not found elsewhere, and a superior notification service.  Our customers have confidence that the standards they use are up-to-date, monitored by an organization that has been working with standards for over 30 years.
