New 2012 Edition for ASTM A123, Standard Specification for Zinc (Hot-Dip Galvanized) Coatings on Iron and Steel Products

There’s a new ASTM A123 2012 Edition, “Standard Specification for Zinc (Hot-Dip Galvanized) Coatings on Iron and Steel Products,” and it’s available now from Document Center Inc.  The specification covers the standard requirements for hot-dip galvanized zinc coatings on iron and steel products made from rolled pressed and forged shapes, castings, plates, bars, and strips.

ASTM A123-12 deals with both unfabricated products and fabricated products.   These can include assembled steel products, structural steel fabrications, large tubes already bent or welded before galvanizing, and wire work fabricated from uncoated steel wire. The document also covers steel forgings and iron castings incorporated into pieces fabricated before galvanizing or those too large to be centrifuged (or otherwise handled to remove excess galvanizing bath metal).

This new 8-page edition covers those products previously addressed in Specifications ASTM A123-78 and ASTM A386-78 (now obsolete).

All current ASTM standards and many obsolete editions can be purchased from Document Center Inc. at our website, www.document-center.com.  ASTM standards are sold under license agreement with ASTM and many are available in pdf as well as paper format.  Feel free to contact us by phone (650-591-7600), fax (650-591-7617) or email (info@document-center.com) should you have any additional questions or comments.
